After a long and cold winter Mother Nature has blessed us with ample rain and plenty of sunshine resulting in Bud Break several weeks early this year throughout Wine Country here on the Northfork of Long Island. Vineyard owners and managers are keeping thier fingers crossed as the region is not out of the woods yet as it is still possible for a killing frost, although the forcast is looking promising through the first week of May.

  This is an excellent time to visit the area before the hustle and bussle of summer and expirience first hand the excitement and potential of this years harvest.  

Historic Greenpot Village will be bustling with family fun all weekend long. Whether it’s walking along Main or Front streets visiting one of the many vendors or peeking inside one of the shops there’s something for everyones enjoyment. Parades, exhibits, T-Shirt printing, face painting, to name a few for kids of all ages.

Need a great relaxing Saturday evening event how about a progresive Gallery walk through Historic Greenports “Gallery Row”, or visit the Village Blacksmith’s Shop. Bring a picinic blanket to Mitchell park and listen to the many bands scheduled over the weekend.

Traditional favorites are the ever popular Kayak derby and Dory race and the infamous Kings of the Coast Pirate Troupe whose interactive family-oriented expirience weaves the fun and excitement of sailing the high seas of yeaster year through ever creative imagination of fact and fiction. 

Another “can’t miss” is the popular Fish and Corn Chowder Contest held Sunday in the Chase Bank parking lot and close out your visit at The Mitchell Park Maritime Museum or Railroad Museum.
